700 Club works closely with Darlington Borough Council’s Housing Options team to support people who are homeless, sleeping rough or at risk of losing their home.
In a video produced by Darlington Borough Council, Janette and the Housing Options team explain some of the work taking place across the borough and the partnership approach used to make sure people can access the help they need.
Working alongside 700 Club and other voluntary and third-sector organisations, the team helps people who are rough sleeping to access support and temporary accommodation, while also working with those who may be at risk of becoming homeless.
Support can extend far beyond finding somewhere to live. Depending on an individual’s circumstances, this can include help with independent living skills and employment, as well as support relating to mental health, domestic abuse, drugs and alcohol.
The partnership between statutory and voluntary organisations is an important part of Darlington’s approach to homelessness, helping ensure that people facing difficult circumstances can access appropriate advice, accommodation and ongoing support.
