The Deposit Protection Service (DPS) awarded the 700 Club £7,500 through its charitable funding programme in recognition of the charity’s work supporting homeless and vulnerable people in Darlington.
The funding was intended to enhance the 700 Club’s Bond Deposit Scheme, helping people who might otherwise struggle to access accommodation within the private rented sector.
At the time, the 700 Club was already helping significant numbers of people move into independent accommodation, including securing 127 private-sector tenancies during 2013.
The donation provided valuable additional support for this work and for people facing some of the greatest barriers to finding and maintaining a home.
